Humans of the Caribbean Diaspora

Taylor Jenkins of Humans of the Caribbean Diaspora featured me for a week. Here is an excerpt.

My mother is from Princes Town, Trinidad and my father is from Hyderabad, Pakistan. On both sides, mass migrations were a reality due to colonial rule. Ancestors on my mother’s side migrated to Trinidad as indentured labouers, and when the British left India, tensions between Hindus and Muslims resulted in the formation on Pakistan, and my father traveled from his birthplace to the new nation. If India is a tree, these migrations are branches; we have the same roots.
